The outreach teaching ministry of Raymont and Brenda Johnson 


FEMI is a faith based community organization that unites and strengthens families and individuals by providing services and educational opportunities that will help them obtain job and life skills resulting in them becoming positive contributors to society. 


In order to meet the need we will provide services and educational information in the following areas: 


Youth outreach:  Cooking classes, sex education from an abstinence perspective, conflict resolution techniques, assistance with instruments for school band or private lessons through a loan program, provide sports registration sponsorship for low income and at risk youth and families, youth leadership training, singing lessons, provide tutoring and education opportunities for STEM and Arts.


Adult outreach to include:Parenting classes for all categories and ages, how to set up a budget, buying your first home, understanding your credit rating and how to read credit reports, marriage advising/counseling – pre and post, personal life coaching, job preparation – how to fill out an application, how to complete a resume, how to conduct a job search and a GED preparation classes, leadership training and education.  Family counseling and coaching


General services to include: Senior citizen activities and meal events, food bank, CPR classes, developing a healthy lifestyle and free tax preparation services through the IRS VITA tax program.

Raymont & Brenda Johnson

Raymont and Brenda Johnson are the founding pastors of Spirit of Faith Christian Center of Ohio where they inspire empower and equip people to walk in their purpose. They are also the founding President and Vice President of Family Empowerment Ministries Incorporated a non-profit whose mission is to unite and strengthen families. Raymont and Brenda were both born and raised in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School, Raymont in 1978 and Brenda in 1981. They have been married for 36 years and have 5 children and 10 Grand Children.

After leaving Alliance in 1982 Raymont went on to serve nearly 25 years in the United States Air Force from which he retired in December of 2007. After his retirement he taught high school as a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp Instructor (JROTC) in Maryland for 7 years prior to returning to Alliance in 2014. He currently works as a Parent Engagement Coordinator for the Early Childhood Resource Center in Canton Ohio.

Brenda, a former government employee and educator. She taught music education in the Washington DC school system prior to her return to Alliance. Brenda is a Certified Community Health Worker and an advocate for women and children, focusing on healthy home environments. 

They are active members of the community through their participation and memberships in key community organizations of which they serve as board members and in other capacities. Alliance Kiwanis International club, Alliance Habitat for Humanity, Men’s Challenge of Alliance, Canton and Massillon, Alliance YMCA Board member, Stark County Family Services Planning Committee, and the Quota Club. They are active members of the Alliance Chamber of Commerce Brenda is a member of the Alliance Chamber women’s division.

These Pathfinders have added value to the city of Alliance through their one of a kind unique programs which include:

  *   Sing for Your Supper youth group – teaching youth to cook and sing
  *   Soul Food Sunday free hot meal program
  *   The Alliance High School and Alliance Middle School Lunch with a Leader youth and young adult mentoring program
  *   Diaper Days Extreme, infant mortality education and free diaper program
  *   Marriage Matters, a quarterly relationship building seminar for married and engaged couples, and marriage and premarital counseling

  *   Classy Girls mentoring program

In addition they can be heard weekly on their radio program Family Matters with Raymont and Brenda Johnson which airs every Sunday morning at 730 am and noon on 91.1 fm the University of Mount Union radio station and they can be seen monthly on SPECTRUM Cable Channel 1022 on their television show Family Matters with Raymont and Brenda Johnson hosted by Kyle Schwarz.
